Overseas Trained Psychiatrists IMG Exam Assist

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand and has responsibility for training, examining and awarding the qualification of Fellowship of the College to medical practitioners.

Typically overseas trained psychiatrists have well-developed clinical skills but can experience many barriers in adjusting to Australian systems including adapting to differences in examination processes and in meeting the requirements of gaining RANZCP Fellowship. IMG Exam Assist is designed to address this area of concern by offering overseas trained psychiatrists online resources to assist in preparation for the RANZCP exams.

To further support overseas trained psychiatrists during their work in Australia and preparation for the RANZCP exams, the RANZCP has also developed an IMG Online Orientation Program and provides ECE preparation workshops twice a year.

Further information about these programs is available from the RANZCP website at http://www.ranzcp.org/fellowship/support-programs.html
